FP PREIS® SML
The SML cast iron socketless pipe system has entirely replaced socketed drainage pipes since 1982. This proven pipe material, along with its practical fittings and reliable connections, meets modern building requirements, including noise and fire protection, space efficiency, functional safety, and longevity.
The technical quality of the SML system has led to the use of cast iron for essential internal building drainage components, such as vertical and horizontal collection pipes and internal rainwater pipes.
Key standards and regulations for FP PREIS® SML products include:
•EN 877: Specifies requirements, test methods, and quality assurance for cast iron pipes, fittings, and their connections used in building drainage.
•DIN 19522: A supplementary standard to EN 877, detailing design dimensions for pipes and fittings.
•RAL-GZ 698: Expands upon EN 877 with a broader range of tests and higher quality demands, represented by the RAL quality mark.
•CE Marking: Declaration of conformity with EU regulations for construction products (89/106/EEC).
•EN 1561: Standard for products made from gray cast iron.
According to Annex F.2 of the EN 877 standard:
"Products made from cast iron according to this European standard are non-combustible and do not contribute to fire. In the event of a fire, they maintain their functional properties and reliability for hours; that is, the pipes withstand flames and gases without cracks, failure, or significant deformation in their walls. The integrity of horizontal and vertical pipes is preserved."
